ChatGPT Browse

ChatGPT Browse

ChatGPT Browse is OpenAI’s web search feature that allows ChatGPT to retrieve current information from the web during conversations. The browse feature is powered by Bing’s search index, which means Bing SEO signals directly influence what ChatGPT retrieves and cites. ChatGPT has over 800 million weekly active users, making it the largest conversational AI platform by engagement.

Optimizing for ChatGPT Browse

ChatGPT Browse requires two crawlers allowed in robots.txt: GPTBot (for training data) and OAI-SearchBot (for real-time retrieval). Since browse uses Bing’s index, pages that perform well in Bing search have a structural advantage in ChatGPT citations. Strong B2B buyer audiences use ChatGPT for research, making it particularly valuable for enterprise and SaaS brands. Content must be available in the initial HTML response because ChatGPT’s crawler does not execute JavaScript.
